Prisons. They’re not something we tend to give much thought to. However this was not the case for Quaker reformer Elizabeth Fry who transformed the squalid conditions of prisons in the 1800s.

Your class will receive a video call from the ‘Angel of Prisons’ – Elizabeth Fry. This pioneer certainly made her mark and transformed the conditions of prisons, saving many lives in the process. Elizabeth will share:
- Her background and the importance of her Quaker religion
- The terrible conditions she saw when visiting prison
- Her ideas for prison change and her success
- Meeting Queen Victoria, what an honour!
